I feel really privileged to work with Trinfo Cafe this summer having heard about the amazing work that Trinfo is doing with digital education for residents around Trinity College. I am especially excited to work on projects that will help people reach their full potential in fundamental ICT concepts. I am passionate about teaching and engaging with people and I believe Trinfo Cafe provides such a wonderful platform for me especially this summer to work with diverse groups of people. I’m looking forward to working with the entire team at Trinfo Cafe

Trinfo Cafe represents a genuine opportunity to interact with people who may feel unwelcome on Trinity’s campus. The level of community involvement I have seen is a true partnership between our Hartford neighbors and the students who are passionate about social justice issues, which is the root of my interest in Trinfo. The computer literacy skills taught are tools that I see having a lasting impact on the adults and students who utilize Trinfo, which is priceless considering the expansion of technology in schools and work settings.

I became interested in working at Trinfo because I wanted to be a part of something that bridged the gap between Trinity students and the Hartford community. Teaching computer literacy classes is an amazing opportunity to share some knowledge with residents of Hartford who are looking to understand how to use computers. Being able to teach in Spanish at Trinfo has provided me with the opportunity to connect with the Hispanic community of Hartford. Initially being drawn to Trinfo for the opportunity to meet Hartford residents, working here has taught me the importance of interacting and connecting with them.

I love being involved in Hartford on a local level. I learn more and more about the city of Hartford, and it’s people every day that I work at Trinfo. It is a truly rewarding experience to be able to work with and teach people about computer literacy, and everything that goes on at Trinfo!

Working with the community is something that I really enjoy. As an engineering major, most of my day consist of numbers and formulas, but Trinfo allows me to take a break and do something I really enjoy. From teaching classes to middle school children, to working one-on-one with adults in computer literacy classes, Trinfo has allowed me to develop relationships with a lot of different people in the community; which is something I would’ve never had the opportunity to do at other on-campus jobs.

Why my interest in continuing to work at Trinfo: Just about every shift I partake in a meaningful conversation with a patron about the society we live in. As an urban studies major, I get to apply all the theories I learn in class with reality of the city surrounding us. My Spanish isn’t perfect, so TrinfoCafe really gives me an outlet to practice my bilingual skills.
